Carl A. David Carl Andrew David, 20, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, due to complications of severe cerebral palsy.

Carl was born in Fairbanks on Nov. 13, 1987, and has remained a lifelong Alaskan. He enjoyed listening to music, car rides, watching movies, and watching his cousin Kane play games on the computer. Carl was full of life and loved to tease and joke with family members. He enjoyed family gatherings to see everyone and he loved being surrounded by his family members that loved and cared for him.

Carl was preceded in death by his grandpa, Andrew David; aunts, Myra David and Isabelle Demit; grandma, Martha Malcolm; and uncle Kenny Malcolm.

He is survived by his guardians, Marianne Young and Marcella David; father, Gary David Sr.; mother, Geraldine Malcolm; aunts, Berthlyn Baker, Lula David, Adeline Gallen, Rebecca Malcolm and Marlene Malcolm; sister, Alberta David; brothers, Gary David Jr., Andrew David and Kenneth David; uncles, Amos David, Vernon Malcolm and Edwin Malcolm; grandmother, Lucy David; and grandfather, Matthew Malcolm.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Tetlin Tribal Hall with John Betters officiating.

Arrangements were by Fairbanks Funeral Home and Crematory.

Starla L. Lambert

Fairbanks resident Starla Louise Lambert, 22, passed away on Monday, Jan. 28, 2008.

Starla was born Oct. 11, 1985, in Arkansas City, Kan., to Russell and Karen Lambert. They called her their miracle baby.

Starla graduated from North Pole High School in May 2005. She had made plans to go to college and worked several jobs to try to achieve her goal. Her last place of employment was Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. Starla had made numerous friends along the way which wasn’t hard for her.

She had a great bubbly personality that you couldn’t resist and her love for people and animals was amazing.

Her family said, “There really aren’t any words out there that could fully describe just how wonderful a person Starla was. This bright, beautiful young lady had a smile for everyone she came across in her life. She worked hard to try to reach her dreams. Starla had a heart of gold, like her mom, and she was always helping people in any way she could. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.”

She was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Lambert; brother, Terry Lambert; and her grandparents.

She is survived by her father, Russ Lambert; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale Lambert, Jerry Lambert, Rusty and Deanna Lambert, Mike Lambert, James Lambert, Lawrence Lambert and Junior and Michelle Lambert; sisters, Beth Lambert and Kathy Lambert; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, at First Baptist Church of North Pole, 5th Avenue and Richardson Highway.

A memorial fund has been opened in her name at Mt. McKinley Bank.
